World Sight Day

We are supporting World Sight Day on 11 October 2012.

World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual event that focuses global attention on blindness, visual impairment and rehabilitation of the visually impaired.

The day is celebrated around the world by organisations and individuals involved in preventing visual impairment or restoring sight.

World Sight Day Challenge

To celebrate World Sight Day, Optometry Giving Sight are coordinating the World Sight Day Challenge. This is a major fundraising campaign to raise money for projects that provide vision care, local training and infrastructure support for people who are blind or vision impaired due to uncorrected refractive error.

There are many ways you could contribute to the World Sight Day Challenge, including:

  • donating eye exam fees from any day in October
  • making a personal or practice donation
  • submitting patient and employee donations
  • submitting funds raised by employees
  • submitting funds raised from an event.
